Former Pakistan cricketer Yasir Hameed believes middle order batsman Saud Shakeel has got to be in the ODI team going forward.
Shakeel is a crucial part of the Test team right now, but has been in and out of the ODI side.
In the 15 ODIs he has played, the 29-year-old has scored 317 runs, which includes three fifties, at an average of 28.81.
With his last ODI coming during the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup, Hameed urged Pakistan to start giving Shakeel more chances in the 50-over format, stating he can “improvise like Kamran Ghulam”.
“I think Saud Shakeel should be included in the side, he can improvise like Kamran Ghulam,” he said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Shakeel recently featured in Pakistan’s two-Test series against South Africa, which the Proteas won 2-0.
In the series, he made 121 runs, which included a top score of 84, at an average of 30.25.
