Legendary South Africa fast bowler Shaun Pollock has advised youngsters to pay close attention to where Pakistan seamer Mohammad Abbas bowls as “they will take a lot of wickets”.
Pollock’s praise for Abbas comes after the 34-year-old made his Test return in the 1st Test against South Africa in Centurion.
He had a comeback to remember as he took seven wickets, including a career-best 6-54 in the 2nd innings that nearly won Pakistan the match.
Pollock was highly impressed with the line and length the Sialkot native was able to maintain when bowling and attributed it to his success.
“Take pictures of Mohammad Abbas’ heat map and send it to all the young bowlers in South Africa. If they can land even 70% of those deliveries, they will take a lot of wickets,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Despite Abbas’ valiant effort with the ball, Pakistan lost the 1st Test by two wickets.
The 2nd Test will start on January 3 in Cape Town.
