Pakistan interim red-ball head coach Aaqib Javed said Test captain Shan Masood likes to play an aggressive brand of cricket.
Masood has been struggling to score runs consistently for the men in green in the longest format, which is no doubt a major concern as he is one of the most senior players in the squad.
Additionally, as captain, the 35-year-old is expected to lead from the front.
During the 1st Test against South Africa in Centurion, he failed to have much of an impact as he posted scores of 17 and 28.
Even though Pakistan lost the match by two wickets, Aaqib praised Masood for his attacking approach and feels it will benefit him and the team overall.
“Shan likes playing aggressive cricket so it is exciting for us,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The 2nd Test between Pakistan and South Africa will begin on January 3 in Cape Town.
