Pakistan batsman Muhammad Faizan has praised big-hitter Iftikhar Ahmed for his batting in the Champions T20 Cup, saying he “was playing shots like it was Ludo”.
Iftikhar is trying to earn back his spot in the national team after being ignored for selection for the last few series.
In the Champions T20 Cup, the 34-year-old from Peshawar amassed 169 runs in 10 matches for the Markhors, which included a top score of 66, at an average of 21.12 and a strike-rate of 114.96.
“Ifti bhai was playing shots like it was Ludo,” Faizan was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Pakistan were recently in Australia and won the ODI series 2-1 before being whitewashed 3-0 in the T20Is.
They then travelled to Zimbabwe and triumphed 2-1 in both the ODI and T20I series.
As for the ongoing tour of South Africa, Pakistan lost the T20I series 2-0 before bouncing back to claim a 3-0 win in the ODIs.
The men in green and the Proteas are now playing a two-Test series, which started on December 26 in Centurion.
