Legendary Australia opening batsman Justin Langer revealed that whenever he is asked who the best bowler he faced was, his answer is always iconic Pakistan left-arm seamer Wasim Akram.
Wasim is arguably the greatest fast bowler Pakistan has ever produced as he had express pace, unplayable yorkers, lethal bouncers, and could swing the ball both ways.
The Sultan of Swing featured in 104 Tests for his country and took 414 wickets at an average of 23.62.
He is also the second-highest wicket-taker in ODI history with 502 wickets in 356 matches at an average of 23.52.
“Every time I am asked the question, ‘Who is the best bowler you have ever faced’, I say Wasim Akram,” Langer was quoted as saying by Geo Super.
Pakistan recently faced Australia in a limited overs series and won the ODIs 2-1 before being whitewashed 3-0 in the T20Is.
They then travelled to Zimbabwe and triumphed 2-1 in both the ODI and T20I series.
As for their ongoing tour of South Africa, Pakistan lost the T20Is 2-0 before rebounding to claim a 3-0 win in the ODIs.
The men in green and Proteas are now playing a two-Test series, which started on December 26 in Centurion.
