Pakistan white-ball captain Mohammad Rizwan said mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed has only shown 70 percent of his talent so far.
He noted that he expects even greater performances from the 26-year-old going forward, suggesting that Abrar will be a key member of the ODI and T20I teams in the future.
Abrar recently took part in Pakistan’s limited overs tour of Zimbabwe and began by taking six wickets in two ODIs at an average of 13.
He then proceeded to claim four wickets in two T20Is at an average of 12.25.
“What he did… is just 70% of his talent. We expect him to perform 100% in the future,” Rizwan was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Abrar is now involved in Pakistan’s tour of South Africa and kicked things off with three wickets in two T20Is at an average of 22.
As for the ongoing ODI series, the Karachi native has picked up four wickets in the first two matches.
Pakistan are 2-0 up going into the 3rd ODI, which will be held on December 22 in Johannesburg.
After the ODIs are done, Pakistan and South Africa will play a two-Test series, which gets underway on December 26 in Centurion.
