Pakistan batsman Kamran Ghulam is hoping to be selected for the 2025 Champions Trophy after a couple of strong performances in ODI cricket.

Ghulam has seen more opportunities come his way in the 50-over format after initially impressing in Test cricket.

During the recent three-match ODI series against Australia, he featured in all the games, but only batted once, scoring five runs.

He fared a lot better in the three ODIs Pakistan played against Zimbabwe as he accumulated 120 runs, which included a career-best knock of 103, at an average of 60.

With the Champions Trophy scheduled to be held from February 19 to March 9, the 29-year-old hopes he will have done enough to convince the selectors to pick him.

“I’m preparing for the… Champions Trophy. If given an opportunity, I’ll aim to perform well and play a role in the team’s success,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

Pakistan are now touring South Africa and began by losing the T20I series 2-0.

As for the three-match ODI series, Ghulam has made scores of 4 and 63 in the first two games.

The men in green hold a 2-0 lead heading into the 3rd ODI, which will take place on December 22 in Johannesburg.

Once the ODIs are over, Pakistan and South Africa will play a two-Test series, which begins on December 26 in Centurion.
