Pakistan rising star Irfan Khan said he aims to make the most of every opportunity he gets as he knows it will take him one step closer to cementing his spot in the national team.

The 21-year-old has represented his country in six ODIs and nine T20Is to date.

Lately, Irfan featured in Pakistan’s limited overs series against Australia, scoring 22 runs in three ODIs at an average of 22.

In the T20I series that followed, he made 47 runs at an average of 23.50.

As for Pakistan’s tour of Zimbabwe, he only mustered 10 runs in three ODIs at an average of five.

After this, he proceeded to score 27 runs in two T20Is.

“I always try to perform wherever I get the opportunity. The plan is to keep working hard and avail every chance that I get,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Pakistan are now facing South Africa in a three-match T20I series and Irfan has posted scores of 1 and 30 in the first two games.

The 3rd T20I will be held on December 15 in Johannesburg.

Once the T20Is conclude, Pakistan and South Africa will play three ODIs and two Tests, which will get underway on December 17 and December 26 respectively.
