Mohammad Amir: “As they say ‘Bazball’ has arrived, I believe the Rizwan era has begun. He has shown outstanding leadership”

Pakistan left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir has backed limited overs captain Mohammad Rizwan to achieve great things, saying his “era has begun”.

Rizwan took over as white-ball skipper in October 2024 and made his captaincy debut during Pakistan’s limited overs tour of Australia.

The men in green won the ODI leg 2-1, which earned them their first ODI series win in the country since 2002.

However, they were unable to maintain their momentum in the T20Is as Australia whitewashed them 3-0.

Following this, Pakistan went to Zimbabwe and triumphed 2-1 in both the ODI and T20I series.

Considering the excellent results the men in green have posted since Rizwan became captain, Amir sees more success coming for the team.

“As they say ‘Bazball’ has arrived, I believe the Rizwan era has begun. He has shown outstanding leadership,” he was quoted as saying by Khel Shel on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Next up for Pakistan will be a tour of South Africa, which will consist of three T20Is, three ODIs and two Tests.

The T20I series will get underway on December 10, while the ODI and Test series will begin on December 17 and December 26 respectively.
