Pakistan batsman Sahibzada Farhan firmly believes Mohammad Rizwan will “turn out to be a good captain” as he is “a fighter”.
Farhan noted that Rizwan’s never give up attitude will be a major attribute for the men in green, who are looking to shake off a number of disappointing results.
“He will turn out to be a good captain for Pakistan. He is a fighter, whether in club matches or international games – his style remains the same,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Rizwan recently made his debut as white-ball captain in the limited overs series against Australia, which consisted of three ODIs and three T20Is.
The men in green triumphed 2-1 in the ODIs, which gave them their first ODI series win in Australia since 2002.
However, they failed to impress in the T20Is as they lost 3-0.
After the Australia series, the men in green travelled to Zimbabwe and won both the ODI and T20I series 2-1.
Pakistan’s next assignment will be a tour of South Africa, which will consist of three T20Is, three ODIs and two Tests.
The T20I series will get underway on December 10, while the ODI and Test series will begin on December 17 and December 26 respectively.
