Pakistan left-arm seamer Shaheen Shah Afridi said the in-swinger has become his “trademark” delivery as it has brought him a lot of success over the years.
Afridi is known as one of the best new ball bowlers in the world as he consistently gets wickets in the first few overs of a match.
Lately, the 24-year-old’s form has been quite turbulent and it has resulted in him being in and out of the Pakistan team.
During the three-Test series against England, he only featured in the first Test and took one wicket at an average of 120.
He then proceeded to play in the three-match ODI series against Australia and fared a lot better, claiming eight wickets at an average of 12.62.
As for the three T20Is that followed, Afridi finished with one wicket at an average of 107.
Pakistan then travelled to Zimbabwe for a white-ball tour, but Afridi was rested for it.
The men in green won the ODI series 2-1, while the T20Is also finished 2-1 in their favour.
“I’m trying to stay fit every time for my team. In-swing delivery is my trademark and I got success,” Afridi was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Pakistan’s next assignment will be a tour of South Africa, where they will play three T20Is, three ODIs and two Tests.
Afridi was selected in the limited overs squads, but was dropped from the Test side.
The T20I series will start on December 10, while the ODI and Test series will begin on December 17 and December 26 respectively.
