Pakistan speedster Abbas Afridi said he wants to learn as much as he can from Australia captain and pace bowling maestro Pat Cummins.

Cummins is one of the top bowlers in the world in all three formats, while Afridi is seen as one of the best up-and-coming seamers in Pakistan.

The 23-year-old has made an excellent start to his international career, but wants to pick the Cummins’ brain to find ways to improve his own game.

“Pat Cummins is one of my favorites and I look forward to learn from him,” Afridi was quoted as saying by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Afridi was recently involved in Pakistan’s limited overs series against Australia, but didn’t feature in the ODI leg, which the men in green won 2-1 to claim their first ODI series win in the country since 2002.

However, he did play in all three T20Is and did phenomenally well as he took six wickets at an average of 6.66 and an economy rate of 6.31.

Despite his outstanding bowling performance, Pakistan ended up being whitewashed 3-0.

Afridi is now part of Pakistan’s squad for their ongoing white-ball tour of Zimbabwe.

The men in green are 1-0 down in the ODI series after losing the first match by 80 runs via the DLS method.

After the ODIs, Pakistan and Zimbabwe will play a three T20Is, with the first match scheduled to begin on December 1 in Bulawayo.
