Pakistan speedster Haris Rauf has lauded the impact left-arm seamer Shaheen Shah Afridi has, saying he “builds pressure by taking early wickets”.
Afridi is one of the best new ball bowlers in the world as he often provides breakthroughs in the first few overs of a match.
Even though Afridi’s form has dipped as of late, Rauf pointed out that the 24-year-old constantly presents a threat as he can catch fire at any time.
“Shaheen builds pressure by taking early wickets,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Afridi recently featured in Pakistan’s three-Test series against England, but was only picked for the first Test in Multan, where he took one wicket at an average of 120.
He then proceeded to take part in the limited overs series against Australia and did exceptionally well in the ODI leg, claiming eight wickets at an average of 12.62.
However, he failed to maintain his momentum in the T20Is as he finished with one wicket in three games at an average of 107.
Pakistan are now in Zimbabwe to play three ODIs and three T20Is from November 24 to December 5.
