Pakistan middle order batsman Saud Shakeel said he still rates his double hundred against Sri Lanka in July 2023 as his best knock in Test cricket.

Shakeel’s comments come after he was asked about his sensational 134 in the third Test against England, which came off 223 balls and included five boundaries.

Despite it being a gutsy innings, the 29-year-old conceded that he still prefers the career-best 208 not out he made in Galle.

“I will pick the double hundred against Sri Lanka over this ton as my best Test knock so far,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Shakeel was not selected for Pakistan’s white-ball tour of Australia, where the men in green won the ODI leg 2-1 but lost the T20I series 3-0.

Instead, he has been representing Karachi Region Whites in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy and has accumulated 151 runs in three games, which includes the ongoing match against Bahawalpur Region, at an average of 30.20.

Pakistan’s next assignment will be a limited overs tour of Zimbabwe, where they will play three ODIs and three T20Is from November 24 to December 5.
