Shahid Afridi: “If you’re searching for a captain who embodies strategy, fearlessness, positivity, energy and passion, look no further than Rizwan”

Legendary Pakistan big-hitter Shahid Afridi believes Mohammad Rizwan will propel the national team forward as limited overs captain as he “embodies strategy, fearlessness, positivity, energy and passion”.
Afridi admitted he is glad the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chose Rizwan as white-ball skipper and hopes the men in green flourish under his leadership.
Rizwan recently made his debut as captain when Pakistan took on Australia in three ODIs and three T20Is.
Pakistan won the ODI leg 2-1, which saw them win their first ODI series in Australia since 2002.
Things didn’t go anywhere near as well in the T20I series, however, as the men in green were whitewashed 3-0.
Nonetheless, Afridi is confident that Rizwan will take Pakistan to new heights during his tenure as captain.
“If you’re searching for a captain who embodies strategy, fearlessness, positivity, energy and passion, look no further than Rizwan. I’m thrilled that the Pakistan Cricket Board has entrusted him with this important responsibility. I have full confidence that he will propel this white-ball team forward and meet the high expectations of those who want to see Pakistan cricket thrive and succeed,” he said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Pakistan’s next assignment will be a limited overs tour of Zimbabwe, where they will play three ODIs and three T20Is from November 24 to December 5.
