Pakistan middle order batsman Kamran Ghulam has revealed that he got offers to represent other countries, but turned all of them down.

Ghulam refused all the offers as he was intent on playing for Pakistan after working so hard to make a name for himself in domestic cricket.

His persistence paid off as he recently made his Test debut in the three-match series against England.

Ghulam made the most of his opportunity as while on debut in the second Test in Multan, he scored a scintillating 118, which came off 224 balls and included 11 boundaries and a six.

Ultimately, the 29-year-old ended up making 147 runs at an average of 49.

“I got a lot of offers from other countries as well to move there and play for them, but my brothers said no matter what, you will play for your own country. I also thought that even if I get old while trying, I will play for Pakistan only, not for another country,” he was quoted as saying by Grassroots Cricket on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Ghulam was then involved in Pakistan’s white-ball series against Australia, which consisted of three ODIs and three T20Is.

In the ODI series, he only batted once and scored five runs. Despite this, the men in green triumphed 2-1, which marked their first ODI series win in Australia since 2002.

However, Pakistan were unable to end the tour on a high as Australia whitewashed them 3-0 in the T20Is.

The men in green will now head to Zimbabwe and play three ODIs and three T20Is from November 24 to December 5.
