Pakistan big-hitting batsman Mohammad Haris has claimed that “opening the batting is the easiest job in T20 cricket”.

He feels it is so unchallenging that he can even score 50 runs – a feat he has yet to do in T20Is.

So far, Haris has represented Pakistan in nine T20Is and amassed 126 runs at an average of 14.

As for his overall T20 career, the 23-year-old from Peshawar has made 1,932 runs in 90 matches, which includes 11 half-centuries, at an average of 23.

“Opening the batting is the easiest job in T20 cricket. Even I can score 50 runs while opening,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Haris was not selected for Pakistan’s two-Test series against Bangladesh, which they lost 2-0, or the three-Test series against England, which the men in green won 2-1.

He also wasn’t picked for the limited overs tour of Australia, which consisted of three ODIs and three T20Is.

Pakistan won the ODI series 2-1 but lost the T20I series 3-0.

Next up for the men in green will be a tour of Zimbabwe, where they will play three ODIs and three T20Is from November 24 to December 5.
