Pakistan middle order batsman Salman Ali Agha has confirmed that Test captain Shan Masood consults with him before taking reviews.

Explaining why, he noted that Masood trusts his reasoning and therefore always asks him if a batsman is out or not before pulling the trigger on asking for a review.

In addition to being one of Masood’s most trusted players, Salman has become one of Pakistan’s middle order anchors as he has scored so many runs and delivered epic performances despite often batting with tailenders.

During Pakistan’s two-Test series against Bangladesh, the 30-year-old made 120 runs, which included a top score of 54, at an average of 40.

He fared even better in the three-Test series against England, amassing 262 runs, which included a century and two fifties, at an average of 65.50.

“Shan Masood takes advice from me before taking review. He says to me I trust you the most on reviews,” Salman was quoted as saying by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Salman is now representing Pakistan in their white-ball series against Australia, which consists of three ODIs and three T20Is.

He batted just once during the ODI series and scored 12 runs, but the men in green still ended up securing a 2-1 win.

As for the T20I series, the Lahore native has made scores of 4 and 0 in the first two games.

Australia hold a 2-0 lead going into the third T20I, which will be played on November 18 in Hobart.

After this, Pakistan will tour Zimbabwe and play three ODIs and three T20Is from November 24 to December 5.
