Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed has acknowledged that he must keep improving his bowling as there are plenty of talented spinners coming up the ranks.

Facing the prospect of more competition in the near future, the 26-year-old knows he has to keep performing and getting better in order to remain on the selectors’ radar.

So far, the mystery spinner has done exceptionally well in Test cricket, taking 39 wickets in eight matches at an average of 37.89.

However, he has refused to get complacent and confirmed that he has to keep putting in a lot of hard work in order to continue dominating at the international level.

“My role is to focus on improving my bowling and working hard daily. With many spinners being groomed, I’ve had experience playing on green pitches in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy,” the Karachi native was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

Abrar was recently involved in Pakistan’s two-Test series against Bangladesh and took one wicket in one game at an average of 123.

He then featured in the three-Test series against England and once again only played one match, where he went wicketless.

Pakistan are now taking on Australia in a limited overs series and won the ODI leg 2-1.

However, they are 2-0 down in the ongoing three-match T20I series heading into the third match, which will take place on November 18 in Hobart.

After this, Pakistan will travel to Zimbabwe to play three ODIs and three T20Is from November 24 to December 5.
