Pakistan spinner Noman Ali has admitted that getting England batsman Joe Root out during the recent three-Test series was “very special” as “he is a big name”.

Noman only played the second and third Tests, but dismissed Root once in each match.

Overall, he finished with 20 wickets, which included two five-fors, at an average of 13.85.

Thanks to his outstanding bowling, Pakistan won 2-1, which gave them their first Test series win at home since 2021.

“All wickets were important for me, but the wicket of Joe Root is very special. He is a big name,” Noman was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Pakistan are now taking on Australia in a white-ball series and won the three ODIs that were played 2-1, which earned them their first ODI series win in Australia since 2002.

As for the T20I series, Australia hold a 1-0 lead at the moment.
