Former England captain Nasser Hussain has taken aim at the Pakistan trio of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah and Aamer Jamal, saying none of them bowl with express pace.

His comments come at a time when there has been a noticeable dip in the bowling speed of many Pakistan quicks, especially Afridi.

Many feel this should be an alarming issue for the men in green as in the past, they had many speedsters who troubled batsmen all over the world with their raw pace.

“And express pace: you wouldn’t say any of their three seamers that they are playing at the moment are express pace,” Hussain said on Sky Sports as quoted by Sports Tak.

Afridi and Naseem recently featured in Pakistan’s two-Test series against Bangladesh, with both of them only playing in the first Test, where they took two wickets and three wickets respectively.

As for Jamal, he didn’t feature in the series as he was recovering from a back injury.

Afridi and Naseem then took part in the three-Test series against England, but once again, they were only picked for the first Test, where they claimed one wicket and two wickets respectively.

Jamal, meanwhile, was fit to play in the series and picked up one wicket in three Tests at an average of 165.

Pakistan are now facing Australia in a limited overs series, which consists of three ODIs and three T20Is.

After this, they will tour Zimbabwe and play three ODIs and three T20Is from November 24 to December 5.
