Pakistan batsman Ahmed Shehzad has claimed that fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain didn’t receive any support from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) when he was injured.

He further alleged that Hasnain paid for everything himself, including his rehabilitation expenses and trip to England for treatment.

Shehzad questioned why the PCB didn’t offer to help the 24-year-old, especially considering the talent he possesses, which has been put on show as of late.

“Congratulations to Mohammad Hasnain. When he was injured, the PCB did not support him, and he handled his rehabilitation expenses himself. Wherever he went, he did everything on his own. He traveled to England and other places for treatment; all of this should have been managed by the PCB, especially for a player who has dedicated at least three years as a net bowler with the team,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

Hasnain recently featured in the Champions One-Day Cup, which was a domestic 50-over competition that took place in Faisalabad, and ended up being the highest wicket-taker with 17 victims in six matches for the Panthers at an average of 16.17.

The Hyderabad native then played for Pakistan Television in the President’s Cup Grade-I (1-Day) tournament and finished as the joint third-highest wicket-taker with nine wickets in four games at an average of 19.55.

Hasnain was not selected for Pakistan’s two-Test series against Bangladesh, which they lost 2-0.

The men in green recently faced England in a three-match Test series and triumphed 2-1, which gave them their first Test series win on home soil since 2021.

Hasnain is now in action in Pakistan’s limited overs series against Australia, which consists of three ODIs and three T20Is.

In the first ODI, which Pakistan lost by two wickets, he finished with figures of 1-51 off 7.1 overs.

After their tour of Australia, the men in green will head to Zimbabwe to play three ODIs and three T20Is from November 24 to December 5.
