Pakistan middle order batsman Kamran Ghulam has admitted that it was frustrating to wait nearly four years to make his Test debut.
Ghulam was finally given the opportunity to do so in the recent three-match series against England, which Pakistan won 2-1.
The 29-year-old made the most of the chance given to him as he struck a sensational 118 in his first innings, which came off 224 balls and included 11 boundaries and a six.
After dominating domestic cricket for so many seasons, the Upper Dir native conceded it was extremely satisfying when all his hard work finally paid off.
“It has been frustrating waiting for nearly four years to finally get a chance to play for Pakistan. I had so much passion and wanted to do well when I got the chance,” he was quoted as saying by NDTV.
Ghulam is now featuring in Pakistan’s white-ball series against Australia, which consists of three ODIs and three T20Is.
Following this, Pakistan will tour Zimbabwe and play three ODIs and three T20Is from November 24 to December 5.
