Pakistan speedster Aamer Jamal said fast bowling “is all about aggression” and if cricketers don’t have that, then they can’t call themselves proper pace bowlers.

Jamal has always adopted this attacking mindset and it has brought him plenty of success in Test cricket, where he has taken 19 wickets in five matches at an average of 28.05.

The 28-year-old’s relentless aggression has troubled plenty of the world’s best batsmen and he has no plans to change his approach going forward.

“Being a fast bowler is all about aggression and if you don’t have aggression in fast bowling then it is not fast bowling,” he was quoted as saying by Khel Shel on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Jamal didn’t play in Pakistan’s two-Test series against Bangladesh as he was recovering from a back injury.

He did, however, feature in the Champions One-Day Cup, which was a domestic 50-over competition that took place in Faisalabad, and claimed five wickets in two games for the Lions at an average of 25.80.

Currently, the Mianwali native is in action in Pakistan’s three-Test series against England and has picked up one wicket at an average of 165.

With the series tied at 1-1, both teams will be determined to triumph in the third Test, which started on October 24 in Rawalpindi.
