Former Pakistan left-arm seamer Wahab Riaz has revealed that ex-head coach Mickey Arthur didn’t like him.

He noted that he didn’t play international cricket for a long time when Arthur coached the national team and attributed this to “being outspoken”.

Interestingly, Wahab feels that when he was selected in the Pakistan team, he sometimes believed it was because he “was a favourite”.

“At times, when I played, I think it was because I was a favourite, but when I wasn’t playing, I wasn’t liked e.g. Mickey did not like me. I sat out for 2 years under him, even though I was great in PSL then. I was disliked because of being outspoken,” the 39-year-old from Lahore was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The Pakistan team recently played a two-Test series against Bangladesh and lost 2-0.

They are now taking on England in a three-match Test series and find themselves 1-0 down after losing the first Test in Multan by an innings and 47 runs.

The second Test started on October 15 in Multan.
