Pakistan fast bowler Aamer Jamal wants domestic players in the country to be paid properly so that they can “focus on their diet, equipment, and training”.

Given the amount of talent at the domestic level, Jamal noted that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) should ensure the cricketers are “financially stable” so that they don’t have to abandon their dreams and find other jobs.

“If domestic players are financially stable, they can focus on their diet, equipment, and training,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Jamal missed Pakistan’s two-Test series against Bangladesh, which the men in green lost 2-0.

However, he did feature in the Champions One-Day Cup, which was a 50-over tournament held in Faisalabad, and took five wickets in two games for the Lions at an average of 25.80.

Currently, Jamal is involved in Pakistan’s three-match Test series against England and took one wicket in the first Test in Multan to go with scores of 7 and 55 not out.

In the ongoing second Test in Multan, the 28-year-old from Mianwali went wicketless in the first innings, but made scores of 37 and 1.

Pakistan Squad for 2nd and 3rd Tests against England: Shan Masood (captain), Saud Shakeel (vice-captain), Aamer Jamal, Abdullah Shafique, Haseebullah Khan (wicketkeeper), Kamran Ghulam, Mehran Mumtaz, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Ali, Muhammad Hurraira, Mohammad Rizwan (wicketkeeper), Noman Ali, Saim Ayub, Sajid Khan, Salman Ali Agha, Zahid Mahmood.
