Almost 8 coaches couldn’t fix his issues, Aamer Sohail on Pakistan player in dire need of help

Aamer Sohail said almost eight coaches couldn't fix Pakistan batsman Babar Azam's issues

Aamer Sohail: “Babar Azam’s mode of dismissal in 2023 was around 47 percent. Since 2019, almost eight coaches have worked with the Pakistan national cricket team. But none of them had an idea [of] what was the technical flaw of Babar Azam”

Former Pakistan captain Aamer Sohail has pointed out that in the last five years, almost eight coaches haven’t been able to resolve the technical flaws in Babar Azam’s game.

He noted the reason for this is that all of the coaches had no idea of what was wrong with the 29-year-old’s batting.

Azam is currently in the midst of a rough patch and has not been able to score runs regularly.

While he has been working hard to regain his form, Aamer admitted it is unacceptable that none of the coaches Pakistan employed even pinpointed these issues and foresaw them becoming a problem.

“Babar Azam’s mode of dismissal in 2023 was around 47 percent. Since 2019, almost eight coaches have worked with the Pakistan national cricket team. But none of them had an idea [of] what was the technical flaw of Babar Azam,” he said on his YouTube channel as quoted by Samaa TV.

Azam recently represented Pakistan in their two-Test series against Bangladesh and made 64 runs at an average of 16.

He was then involved in the Champions One-Day Cup, which was a domestic 50-over competition held in Faisalabad.

In four games for the Stallions, he struck 230 runs, which included a century and a fifty, at an average of 76.66.

Azam is currently in action in Pakistan’s three-Test series against England and scored 30 runs in the first innings of the first Test in Multan.
