Former Pakistan captain Aamer Sohail confirmed that batsman Babar Azam has proven the old adage of class being permanent.

Azam has accomplished so much in his international career and has already established himself as one of Pakistan’s greatest-ever batsmen.

Even though the 30-year-old from Lahore has struggled to score runs regularly over the past few months, Sohail pointed out that there is no denying what he has done for the country in the nine years he has been playing international cricket.

“Class is permanent and Babar has proved that,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Azam recently represented Pakistan in their two-Test series against Bangladesh, but was only able to make 64 runs at an average of 16.

Following this, he showed signs of rediscovering his form during the Champions One-Day Cup, which was a domestic 50-over competition that took place in Faisalabad.

In the four matches he played for the Stallions, he scored 230 runs, which included a century and a fifty, at an average of 76.66.

Azam was then involved in Pakistan’s three-Test series against England, but only featured in the first Test, where he made scores of 30 and 5.

The men in green ended up winning 2-1, giving them their first Test series win on home soil since 2021.
