Former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal has lambasted the national players, saying they “haven’t learned anything in the last 5 years”.
Akmal’s comments come after the men in green suffered a disappointing 2-0 loss to Bangladesh in their Test series in Rawalpindi.
The shock series defeat can be attributed to a number of reasons, including poor batting, subpar bowling during certain periods, and questionable team selection.
“You haven’t learned anything in the last 5 years,” Akmal said on his YouTube channel as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.
Batting-wise, wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan led the way with 294 runs, which included a career-best 171 not out, at an average of 98.
As for the bowling, fast bowler Khurram Shahzad was the highest wicket-taker with nine wickets at an average of 24.44.
Many of the Pakistan players are now involved in the Champions One-Day Cup, which is a domestic 50-over tournament being played in Faisalabad.
Following this, the men in green will face England in a three-match Test series from October 7 to 28 in Multan and Rawalpindi.
