Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali believes limited overs captain Babar Azam should get married soon as he will “be a completely different man after that”.
The 29-year-old is currently going through a rough patch and is struggling to make big scores consistently.
Basit feels that by tying the knot, Azam will rediscover his form and start performing at his best once again.
“Babar Azam, talk to your parents and get married. He will be a completely different man after that. I know how a player feels when he is not performing well. I request Babar’s parents to get him to marry. Like an elder brother, I want him to tell him Shaadi kar le bhai, ab umar zyada ho gayi hai teri (Get married brother, you are now old enough),” he said on his YouTube channel as quoted by NDTV.
Azam recently featured in Pakistan’s two-Test series against Bangladesh and was only able to muster 64 runs at an average of 16.
He is now representing the Stallions in the Champions One-Day Cup, which is a domestic 50-over tournament going on in Faisalabad.
In four games, the Lahore-born batsman has scored 230 runs, which includes a century and a fifty, at an average of 76.66.
The Pakistan team will return to action next month when they take on England in a three-Test series from October 7 to 28 in Multan and Rawalpindi.
