Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja has advised white-ball captain Babar Azam to “avoid social media” in order to focus on getting back in form.

Azam’s run-scoring consistency has dipped over the past few months, which has really hurt the men in green as they have a tendency to rely on him to get them out of trouble.

Most recently, the 29-year-old featured in the two-Test series against Bangladesh, but was unable to have much of an impact as he was restricted to 64 runs at an average of 16.

Worried about Azam’s form, Ramiz urged him to “stay in the moment” and not overthink things while batting.

“So what does he have to do? First, avoid social media. Second, stay in the moment. When you are not able to score runs, it becomes a mental game and you start second-guessing,” he said on his YouTube channel as quoted by NDTV.

Pakistan lost 2-0 to Bangladesh and will now be looking to bounce back when they take on England in a three-match Test series from October 7 to 28.
