Pakistan mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed has lauded the skillfulness of Mohammad Nawaz, Imad Wasim and Shadab Khan, saying he has learned a lot from them.
Shadab is Pakistan’s first-choice spinner in limited overs cricket, while Nawaz was part of the team for quite some time but has been overlooked for selection as of late.
As for Imad, he came out of retirement to play in the 2024 T20 World Cup, but it remains to be seen if he opts to continue playing international cricket going forward.
With all three of them being among the best spinners in Pakistan, Abrar admitted that he considers himself fortunate to play and train alongside them as it has had a positive impact on his development.
“Mohammad Nawaz, Imad Wasim and Shadab Khan are all very skilful. I got the opportunity to learn from them,” the 25-year-old from Karachi was quoted as saying by A Sports.
Abrar was part of Pakistan’s squad for the T20 World Cup, but wasn’t included in the playing XI for any of the matches. The men in green failed to impress in the tournament as they were knocked out in the group stage.
Most recently, Abrar is involved in Pakistan’s two-match Test series against Bangladesh, but only featured in the second Test, where he took one wicket at an average of 123.
The men in green lost the series 2-0 and will now face England in a three-Test series from October 7 to 28.
