Former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria believes India shouldn’t travel to the country for the 2025 Champions Trophy.
The tournament is scheduled to take place from February 19 to March 5, but India have not confirmed whether they will travel to the home of their arch-rivals.
There has been speculation that a hybrid model could be adopted for the Champions Trophy, with India playing their games somewhere else.
Having assessed the situation, Kaneria feels it would be the right move for the men in blue not to come.
“Looking at the situation in Pakistan, I have to say that the Indian team should not go to Pakistan,” he said on Sports Tak as quoted by NDTV.
The men in green recently faced Bangladesh in a two-Test series, which they lost 2-0 despite playing on home soil in Rawalpindi.
Next up for them will be a three-match Test series against England, which will be held from October 7 to 28.
