Kamran Akmal: “Due to personal likes and dislikes, that boy (Abrar) has been ruined. His fitness and off-the-field issues were highlighted, and because of that, you’ve spoiled that boy and harmed Pakistan”

Former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal has lashed out at the selectors and team management for ruining mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed.
He noted that they have “spoiled that boy” through the like and dislike culture that allegedly exists within the current set-up.
Abrar is one of the most promising young spinners in the country and had developed a reputation for bamboozling batsmen coming into the recent two-match Test series against Bangladesh.
However, he was not included in the playing XI for the first Test, which Pakistan lost by 10 wickets.
The 25-year-old was subsequently picked for the second Test and ended up taking one wicket at an average of 123.
With Abrar not playing regularly, Akmal noted that it will do nothing but hurt his confidence and potentially have an adverse impact on his performance as well.
“Due to personal likes and dislikes, that boy (Abrar) has been ruined. His fitness and off-the-field issues were highlighted, and because of that, you’ve spoiled that boy and harmed Pakistan,” he told Cricket Pakistan as quoted by NDTV.
Pakistan were nowhere near their best in the Test series against Bangladesh and were thus whitewashed 2-0.
