Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain said he has “a dream to make a comeback” after falling off the selectors’ radar for the past 18 months.

Hasnain was once considered to be among Pakistan’s brightest pace prospects, but he failed to live up to the hype and his inconsistent performances ended up costing him his place in the national team.

To date, the 24-year-old from Hyderabad has taken 12 wickets in nine ODIs at an average of 41.41.

He has also featured in 27 T20Is and claimed 25 wickets at an average of 34.12.

Despite this, Hasnain is not giving up on his international career and also spoke about his desire to represent his country in Test cricket.

To do this, he will have to perform in first-class cricket as he has only picked up 12 wickets in seven first-class matches at an average of 49.16.

“I have a dream to make a comeback and play Test cricket for Pakistan,” he was quoted as saying by Khel Shel on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Hasnain was not part of Pakistan’s squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup, where the men in green were eliminated in the group stage.

He also wasn’t selected for the ongoing two-match Test series against Bangladesh, where Pakistan find themselves 1-0 down after losing the first Test by 10 wickets.

The second Test got underway on August 21 in Rawalpindi.
