Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Rohail Nazir recalled the time he reverse scooped pace spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi when he was “at his peak”.

Afridi is widely regarded as one of the best fast bowlers in the game right now and has a knack of picking up early wickets with the new ball.

Nazir noted that he still remembers the reverse scoop he played as it came at a time when he was trying to prove himself.

“Shaheen was at his peak at that time, and I played reverse scoop against him,” the 22-year-old told PakPassion.

Nazir was not involved in the 2024 T20 World Cup, but Afridi represented Pakistan in the tournament and took five wickets in four matches at an average of 21 and an economy rate of 6.56.

Afridi will now feature in Pakistan’s two-match Test series against Bangladesh, which will be held in Rawalpindi and Karachi from August 21 to September 3.
