Tanvir Ahmed: “Spinners have disappeared throughout Pakistan, and there is only one spinner in the Test squad, Abrar Ahmed. Where are our domestic coaches who still haven’t managed to develop any spinners, or are they only focused on words?”

Former Pakistan fast bowler Tanvir Ahmed is shocked that Abrar Ahmed is the only specialist spinner in the national team for the upcoming two-Test series against Bangladesh.
He questioned where all the other top-class spinners in Pakistan are and also wants to know why none of the domestic coaches haven’t been able to “develop any spinners”.
Tanvir conceded he is worried that the lack of spinners indicates Pakistan’s domestic cricket isn’t up to par.
“Is this our domestic cricket? Spinners have disappeared throughout Pakistan, and there is only one spinner in the Test squad, Abrar Ahmed. Where are our domestic coaches who still haven’t managed to develop any spinners, or are they only focused on words?” he said on X, formerly known as Twitter, as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.
The men in green will be looking for a much-needed win against Bangladesh following their dismal performance in the 2024 T20 World Cup, where they were knocked out in the group stage.
The two-Test series between Pakistan and Bangladesh will be held in Rawalpindi and Karachi from August 21 to September 3.
