Younis Khan: “I have no doubt that if Woolmer had remained head coach, Pakistan cricket would have been very different today, and he would have taken it to great heights”

Legendary Pakistan batsman Younis Khan believes the national team would have reached “great heights” had Bob Woolmer continued on as head coach.
Many former cricketers believe Woolmer was arguably the best coach the men in green had as he helped the side achieve impressive results.
However, Woolmer was found dead at the age of 58 following Pakistan’s loss to Ireland in the 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup.
That defeat saw the men in green get eliminated from the World Cup and the day after, news of Woolmer’s death surfaced.
There have been plenty of rumours and speculation surrounding the cause of his death, with some believing he was murdered while others attributed it to natural causes.
Nonetheless, Younis lauded the impact Woolmer had on the Pakistan team.
“I have no doubt that if Woolmer had remained head coach, Pakistan cricket would have been very different today, and he would have taken it to great heights,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
