Fast bowler Hasan Ali addressed Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi’s comments about conducting “major surgery”, saying it is impossible to replace all 11 players in the national team right now.

The 30-year-old from Gujranwala conceded that Pakistan “don’t have such back-ups that we can change all 11 players”.

While he admitted to being confused by Naqvi’s remarks about implementing big changes, Hasan advocated for the PCB chairman to “take strong steps and make firm decisions”.

“I don’t know in what context the chairman has mentioned surgery. Will they change all 11 players? Which is not possible. I am really sorry to say because we don’t have such back-ups that we can change all 11 players. I don’t know what surgery will be, but things should be absolutely right and should be done for the betterment of cricket. The chairman should take strong steps and make firm decisions,” he told Cricket Pakistan.

Most recently, the Pakistan team were involved in the 2024 T20 World Cup and lost to the United States of America and India before fighting back to beat Canada and Ireland.

Even though they ended the group stage with a 2-2 record, the men in green failed to make it through to the Super Eights.
