Pakistan spinner Shadab Khan has admitted that he has fun watching Saim Ayub bat as he provides plenty of entertainment.
Ayub is an attacking top order batsman and has showcased his power-hitting skills on various occasions in domestic cricket and T20 tournaments.
However, he has not been able to replicate that success at the international level, having scored 309 runs in 23 T20Is at an average of 14.71 and a strike-rate of 122.13.
Despite this, Shadab reiterated how exhilarating it is to watch the 22-year-old when he is on fire.
“Players like them are too good to watch,” Shadab said on the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Podcast as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.
Shadab and Ayub both played for Pakistan in the 2024 T20 World Cup, with the former going wicketless in four games.
As for Ayub, he mustered 23 runs in two games at an average of 11.50 and a strike-rate of 79.31.
The men in green began their campaign with back-to-back losses to the United States of America and India before rebounding to take down Canada and Ireland.
However, those two victories went in vain as Pakistan were eliminated in the group stage of the competition.
