Former Pakistan cricketer Bazid Khan said limited overs captain Babar Azam is right up there with the best batsmen in the world.
Azam has been Pakistan’s go-to run-scorer in all three formats and has been the backbone of the batting line-up for the past few years.
Bazid admitted no one can deny that the 29-year-old is a “world-class batter”, given everything he has achieved so far in his career.
“He is a world-class batter, no doubt about that,” he was quoted as saying by Geo Super.
Azam recently captained Pakistan in the 2024 T20 World Cup and made 122 runs in four matches at an average of 40.66 and a strike-rate of 101.66.
The men in green started the tournament with consecutive losses to the United States of America and India before securing successive wins over Canada and Ireland.
Despite ending the group stage on a high, Pakistan failed to make it through to the Super Eights.
