Former Pakistan batsman Bazid Khan said the men in green have so many choices to pick from when it comes to their spin attack for the 2024 T20 World Cup.
He pointed out that Pakistan have main spinners like Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan and Abrar Ahmed, along with part-time options such as Iftikhar Ahmed and Saim Ayub, who recently gained prominence as a spinner during the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Given that the T20 World Cup will be held in the West Indies and United States of America from June 1 to 29, Bazid stressed how important it is for Pakistan to have the best possible spin line-up.
“You [have] got so many spinners and they can pick from Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan, Abrar Ahmed and all-rounders Iftikhar Ahmed and Saim Ayub,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Pakistan recently featured in a five-match T20I series against New Zealand, which ended as a 2-2 draw.
They were then involved in a three-match T20I series against Ireland, which Pakistan won 2-1.
Next up for the men in green will be four T20Is against England from May 22 to May 30.
