Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja said Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan “are two of the very best batters in Pakistan cricket history.”
Azam and Rizwan have been the men in green’s most consistent run-scorers in all three formats over the past few years.
Both batsmen have won the national team many games and have become virtually undroppable due to the value they bring.
Ramiz seems to agree with this and reiterated that they belong in the same class as some of the greats to have represented Pakistan in the past.
“Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan are two of the very best batters in Pakistan cricket history,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Azam and Rizwan recently featured in the 2024 T20 World Cup, with the former scoring 122 runs in four matches at an average of 40.66 and a strike-rate of 101.66.
As for Rizwan, he accumulated 110 runs in four games, which included a top score of 53 not out, at an average of 36.66 and a strike-rate of 90.90.
Pakistan lost to the United States of America and India in the T20 World Cup before bouncing back to take down Canada and Ireland.
However, those two wins went in vain as they were eliminated in the group stage of the competition.
