Former left-arm seamer Wahab Riaz has opened up on his dismissal as a Pakistan selector, insisting that he did not pressure the selection committee to pick certain players in the national team.
Wahab questioned how his vote could “dominate” those of the other six selectors and pointed out that “everything is documented on record in the meeting minutes”.
The 39-year-old’s removal comes after the 2024 T20 World Cup, where the men in green failed to make it out of the group stage.
“I don’t agree with the statements being discussed about adding pressure to the members of the selection committee, how can 1 vote dominate 6? Everything is documented on record in the meeting minutes,” he said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
In the T20 World Cup, Pakistan lost to the United States of America and India before claiming consolation wins over Canada and Ireland.
