Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi has made it clear that Shan Masood won’t be removed as Test captain.
There had been rumours about whether Masood would keep hold of the captaincy, but it is now clear that he has the full support of Naqvi.
Explaining why he will allow the 34-year-old to continue leading the men in green in Tests, Naqvi said he has “received positive reports” about him.
“Shan Masood will not be removed from test captaincy of Pakistan Cricket Team. I have received positive reports regarding Shan from many sources,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Masood was not part of Pakistan’s team for the 2024 T20 World Cup, where the men in green lost to the United States of America and India before bouncing back to beat Canada and Ireland.
However, those two victories went in vain as Pakistan were knocked out in the group stage of the tournament.
