Rashid Latif: “I would give Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan 5 matches to change their batting approach in T20Is, and if they won’t, then there should be no place in the team for them”

Former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Rashid Latif believes limited overs captain Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan should be given five matches to change their approach in T20Is and removed from the team if they can’t adjust.
Latif feels both batsmen need to pick up the pace when batting so that the men in green can post more competitive totals.
His comments come after the 2024 T20 World Cup, where Pakistan were eliminated in the group stage.
“I would give Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan 5 matches to change their batting approach in T20Is, and if they won’t, then there should be no place in the team for them,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Azam was Pakistan’s highest run-scorer in the T20 World Cup with 122 runs in four matches at an average of 40.66 and a strike-rate of 101.66.
As for Rizwan, he was the second-highest run-scorer with 110 runs in four games, which included a top score of 53 not out, at an average of 36.66 and a strike-rate of 90.90.
The men in green began their campaign with back-to-back losses to the United States of America and India before fighting back to defeat Canada and Ireland.
Despite triumphing in those two matches, they failed to make it to the Super Eights.
