Manoj Tiwary: “Blaming him alone for Pakistan’s results is unfair”

Former India batsman Manoj Tiwary believes it is completely wrong for people to put all the blame on limited overs captain Babar Azam for Pakistan’s disappointing results as of late.
Azam captained the team in the 2024 T20 World Cup, where they were knocked out in the group stage.
The 29-year-old was consistently held responsible whenever the men in green lost and Tiwary feels that this could have contributed to Azam’s turbulent batting in the last few months.
“Blaming him alone for Pakistan’s results is unfair,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Azam was Pakistan’s highest run-scorer in the T20 World Cup, making 122 runs in four matches at an average of 40.66 and a strike-rate of 101.66.
Pakistan started off with losses to the United States of America and India before claiming wins over Canada and Ireland.
Despite ending the group stage with a 2-2 record, it was not enough to earn the men in green a spot in the Super Eights.
