Pakistan left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir believes the “best thing” about white-ball captain Babar Azam is his eagerness to keep learning.

Amir noted that the 29-year-old is constantly working hard to improve his batting and captaincy skills.

Despite already “doing so well for Pakistan”, Amir pointed out that Azam is never satisfied and always feels he can get better.

“The best thing in him is that he always tries to learn. As a leader, he’s learning, as a batter he’s doing so well for Pakistan and himself, but he still wants to learn,” he was quoted as saying by Geo Super.

Azam recently captained Pakistan in the 2024 T20 World Cup and finished with 122 runs in four matches at an average of 40.66 and a strike-rate of 101.66.

Amir, meanwhile, claimed seven wickets in four games at an average of 10.28 and an economy rate of 4.50.

Pakistan kicked off their campaign with consecutive losses to the United States of America and India before bouncing back to defeat Canada and Ireland.

Even though they ended the group stage on a high, the men in green still ended up getting eliminated.
