Zaheer Khan: “Pakistan don’t like to play T20 the way it has evolved. Teams look to utilise powerplay while Pakistan batters take time. The same is with the lower order batters where there is no proper hitter”

Former India fast bowler Zaheer Khan said the Pakistan team lack a “proper hitter” who can score quick runs at the end of the innings.
The men in green have trialled numerous players in that role, with Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan and Imad Wasim all having been tested recently.
Additionally, Zaheer pointed out that “Pakistan don’t like to play T20 the way it has evolved”. He urged Babar Azam’s side to embrace change and be more aggressive in the powerplay.
“Pakistan don’t like to play T20 the way it has evolved. Teams look to utilise powerplay while Pakistan batters take time. The same is with the lower order batters where there is no proper hitter,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
The Pakistan team were recently involved in the 2024 T20 World Cup and lost to the United States of America and India before fighting back to take down Canada and Ireland.
Despite ending the group stage with a 2-2 record, the men in green failed to progress to the Super Eights.
