Atiq-uz-Zaman: “In Pakistan player power is still there. The players are in control and if Gary Kirsten is strict, the players will get him removed as head coach”

Former Pakistan cricketer Atiq-uz-Zaman believes limited overs head coach Gary Kirsten will be removed by the players if he is too strict.
His comments come after the men in green failed to impress in the 2024 T20 World Cup, where they were knocked out in the group stage.
Even though Kirsten has earned a reputation as one of the top coaches in the world, Atiq feels the Pakistan players won’t hesitate to get rid of him if they don’t like his coaching style.
“In Pakistan player power is still there. The players are in control and if Gary Kirsten is strict, the players will get him removed as head coach,” he was quoted as saying by respected journalist Saj Sadiq on X, formerly known as Twitter.
In the T20 World Cup, Pakistan lost to the United States of America and India before fighting back to take down Canada and Ireland.
